I've been browsing this forum for a few days and thought it about time to join and contribute.
I'm an infrequent sailor and plan to become more frequent. I learned to sail back in the mid 70's with a mate who had a Mirror and occasionally went out on his father's Red Jacket trailer sailor.
About 4 years ago I bought an aging Hartley 16, with all the intentions of doing it up but soon learned that my fitness level was not up to the task. After a couple of trips out on Port Phillip Bay, I ended up having to selling it with great reluctance.
Now, a couple of years later, my wife and I are hoping to sell up the house, buy a 50 footer (something like a John Pugh), investing the balance and living aboard
for a couple of years.

in about 18 months. We're both looking forward to it.
