Hello from TX

Howdy,

New to the site. I have sailed many years and currently sail a Hunter 28.5 on Lake Ray Hubbard, North Texas. My wife and I plan to be sailing the BVIs next May.

Welcome! I'm pretty new to the site too, but already the members have given me valuable advice in preparation for the expected to be Hurricane Hanna here in Charleston,SC. Ask 'em most anything, they are very helpful.

Welcome, JD! Will you be sailing your own boat in the BVI, or chartering? Captaincurt is right--lots of friendly helpful people here.

Chartering. I'm taking baby steps to get my wife used to water sailing">blue water sailing. Ultimate goal is livaboard cruising. I'm ready to go now, she'll take a little coaxing...

The BVI is probably the best of all places to do your first chartering. That's what got my wife comfortable with buying our current boat, and then some extended cruising in the Caribbean.
