Hello from the Rio Dulce

Hi Y'all!

Well, I already hang around on several other cruising chat boards and have lurked here now and then, but I never took the time to register.

We are on the Rio Dulce in Guatemala for Hurricane Season and have a lot of internet time, so I finally registered here too!

Who knows, I might actually be able to provide additional useful input at some point!

All the best,

Buddy

Hi again!

Thanks for the welcome!

As far as dock space for catamarans on the Rio Dulce (and basically everywhere on the East Coast and in El Caribe that we needed a slip), no problema!

Right now, at Mario's Marina, I am surrounded by other cats: a Lagoon 410; two Robertson Cane 4500's; three Manta 42's and there is a one-off Trimaran that is HUGE. There are scores of cats here on the river in all the marinas. Cats are out in big numbers these days -- all shapes and sizes.

Dock space for cats is definately NOT a problem for us and we have not had any trouble.

We've been from New Orleans to Florida to Martha's Vinyard to the Bahamas to the Eastern Caribbean to Venezuela to Colombia to Panama to Honduras to Guatemala.

The great news is that I have not yet had trouble finding a slip for my Lagoon 380 anywhere I actually wanted/needed one.

So, it is good news!

All the best,

Buddy
