Hello from the Netherlands

let's talk a bit about myself and my wife and 2 children.

It started when i was 20 years or so, helping someone varnishing a BM 16 m2. It's a mahogany gaff rigged sailboat, i think 6 - 6,5 metres long.
After we sailed a lot with it (and with a Sail Horse), i bought my first wooden sailboat, a smaller one, but i liked it.
I filmed some boats last summer, this i more or less what i did then.

Ashore, people had stolen the rudder, mast, rigging etc. So allmost nothing left. Episode one exit.

Many many years later i met my wife, and i thought, let's buy another BM.
So we did. we sailed it a few years, but with 2 children growing faster and faster, the sailboat was becoming too small. Exit episode two.

After that we chartered a Bavaria, and then 'lightning stroke' more or less.
We decided to save money, so we are (maybe) able to sail a Catalina Morgan 45, or a Moody 42 CC, or a ..........
Yet we are reading lots of books, doing some courses, and learn a lot at home ourselves. I makes fun to do that, but why is it taking so long before was can retire?
Well, we have to wait another 6 years at least.

Last summer we visited the Isle of Wight, UK. Man, how beautiful was that. I we could sail to such destinations later!! Here an impression of the Isle of Wight near The Needles and Freshwater Bay.

Are here more people around from the Netherlands?

Greetings from the Netherlands,

Taco en Margriet.
