Hello from the desert.

Hey everyone, I just got the sailing bug late last year and took some classes. I have my ASA cert through bareboat. I am planning on buying a boat around February and trying to sail full time for 6 months or till my money runs out. Should be a good time. I look forward to interacting in this forum.

Geologist4sail,

You aren't that far from me. I'm just arrived in Phoenix four weeks ago. I am a flying eye doctor with the Indian Health Service. When I fly out to the San Carlos Apache Reservation to work there, I will fly over you in Superior, Arizona. I will wave to you as I fly buy.

We fly out to San Carlos, White River, Hopi, Yuma and other Indian reservations from our base here in Phoenix. Most of the time we are at the Phoenix Indian Medical Center in downtown Phoenix, and then once or twice a week we fly out to provide eye care on the reservations.

If you are in Phoenix, you can look us up while we are earning more freedom chips. After an eleven year circumnavigation, it's time to replenish the freedom chips for the next adventure.

I'll still be sailing while I'm in Phoenix, but it will be at 5000 feet, and I will be sailing to windward in a twin engine turbo prop that has seats for ten people. For the first time in my life, I won't mind sailing to windward.

Cheers,
