You can't miss my boat, it's the one on the left as you enter, with the tattered tent and a bunch of workers smoking funny cigarettes and playing cards under the bridgedeck.

I feel your pain in regards to learning Thai. Here's a source that I have found usefull: Learning Thai the Easy Way Click on "speak" in the upper right hand corner.

Just found this in my favourites, I recall it did a passable job when cutting and pasting Thai text into English.

Thai to English dictionary & transliteration

I made up these flashcards a few years back (they print out onto blank Business cards)

- at one point I knew all the Thai Consonants - mainly from keeping the flashcards in my pocket and using them, even for 2 minutes.....albeit I never quite progressed onto the vowels and words, albeit I was starting to be able to decipher words (that I did not understand! and could only pronouce badly )......I wish I had stuck with it

Aloha and Welcome aboard!

Looks like you've already made some forum friends. Good to have you here.

My only experience with Thailand was at Pattaya Beach as a Navy Sailor. You can imagine. Was it Sing Ha?

Kind regards,

Pretty handy tool for Thailand and a few other places

MapJack (Beta) - Your City Online

Should provide a walkthrough of the boat lagoon yard and has been invaluable for me as I am coming up in May so I have actually been able to check out the places I am staying and the surrounds.

Now if only I could find one for Penang and KL

Hello Jerry,

I was sailing around Phuket, Krabi and down to Langkawi in October last year, and over the Christmas holidays. Also passed Ko Lanta.
I will have my own boat in Yacht Haven Marina around October this year. It is still under construction in South Africa. Who knows we will meet.

Re: Hello From Thailand

Hi there Chao Lea.

Have you any sailing experience ?
Read your message, and as you have going by boat in the islands in the south.
Please feel free to send me same mail, with info, if you can recommend me same good and economical place to keep my boat at, in harbor or mooning.
It need to be a safe place for high wind and waves.
I live in Thung Song and can think about th keep the boat in Krabi or Phuket area.

Thung Song
