Hello From Sunny BVI

Hi all, been reading and absorbing alot if info from your excellent forum. My uncle and I have just purchased a beneteau oceanis 445 in the British virgin islands and we are preparing her for the voyage back to the EU. We both have many questions and hope this is the place to ask them.

Please forgive my spelling, I am currently using my phone and this doesn't make things easy.

Look forward to hearing from and speaking to you all

Nick.

Re: hello from sunny bvi

Nick,

Welcome to CF. Your uncle is a lucky guy, I wish I could get my nephews or nieces to sail with me.

Re: hello from sunny bvi

Nick,

I'll be in the BVI in less than a week, perhaps we can meet up and discuss passagemaking. Where are you located? I'll be at Nanny Cay for a couple of days while getting the boat ready (it has been on the hard).

Otherwise, just fire away with questions!

We are currently birthed at fort Burt Marina, but will be making a move in the next week or so. just need to get some of the more important things sorted ie. Vhf, GPS, epirb.

Does anyone know of a second hand market in tortola/road town? hoping to find a vhf and or CD player locally but is to expensive in local shops.

Zen, as I said we are in fort Burt, but will be leaving shortly to either moor in nanny cay or head across to Norman island. Send me an email when you are settled so we could organise a meet up. Donkey-conn@hotmail.com

I'm looking after a couple of boats on Reggie Penn's dock - about 100 yards from you - the town side of the pub....If you see me onboard, drop by and say Hi. Tony

Is yours the huge boat in the background?! ;-)

Welcome aboard! I'm delivering an Island Packet 44 to Nanny Cay and will be there in 2 weeks. If you're there look up L'Audace.

Hi Nick... Welcome to CF..
If your boat needs kitting out head to St Martin and Lille Marine... cheapest shopping in the Islands.. (no affiliation) they go outa their way to help..
Which way you going... if direct to the Azores SXM is te best jump off...
Bermuda-Azores? don't matter..
