Hello from Seattle

Hello. I've been sailing for about twenty years, mostly on small boats (under 25'). I worked at a sailboat brokerage during summers whilst at college, some years ago, and learned about sailboat maintenance through that job - it proved to be invaluable experience, plus I can identify the make of approximately 80% of the sailboats I see.

I am now on my third boat, and which is more "systems heavy" than I am used to, so and I can benefit from the accumulated knowledge in this board.

I sail the Puget Sound, year round, and love to meet others who appreciate sailing, especially those who live life with elegance, style and passion. Good and wine, great friends and music, and good conversation - that's what it's all about for me. No attitude, no posturing, just be real, be grounded and realize we needn't sweat the small stuff - it's all small stuff..

There is a tremendous amount of knowledge in this board and I'm pleased we can all share it with each other.

Cheers!

G'Day and welcome also.
Methinks your views sum up what's best about cruising people. Nice to see it posted.
Enjoy, and sail safe.

Welcome aboard. When we were out that way I offered to save our space if the Captain would go home and pack the truck. I love the PNW, especially year round sailing without frost bite.

Cheers and welcome from another PNWester. We call the very end of Howe Sound home but cruise the Gulf Islands, Desolation Sound and hope to make it down your way one day again. I found my obsession in Olympia and the trip home through the Laconner Canal was very cool.

Yes Sir, you came to the correct place. Systems? We have a guy here who did an engine installation so beautiful that people protested when he wanted to make a cover for it. We have another guy who ginned up a stainless steel mast step so beautiful that it belongs in SAM as a sculpture. We have another guy who has so many systems in his boat (and his head) that he needs a mobile laboratory and jigawatts of power just to turn it on. But I digress.

Welcome, hope to see you out there.

Todd
