Hello from Saba 50, Cuvée

Hello - After some 25 bareboat charters in the BVI since 1990, we recently purchased a Fountaine Pajot Saba 50, “Cuvée”. She is hull #2, a 4-cabin model that was featured at the Fall 2014 boat show">Annapolis Boat Show by FP and Annapolis Cruising Yachts.

Thanks to all the FP Helia 44 owners that have posted on CF their lessons-learned and boat upgrades. The Saba 50 shares many of the Helia 44 features and systems, just a bit bigger, and your posts have been invaluable as I’ve gone through the commissioning process.

Currently there’s little first-hand online feedback on the Saba 50, so I look to share my experiences with our boat. She has nearly 7000 sea miles on her already including the delivery sail from La Rochelle, France to Annapolis and then to St Thomas where she is in charter with CYOA Yacht Charters. So far she is performing very well and there have only been very minor issues.

Congrats! You have a beautiful boat. Just crawled all over the one at the Miami Boat Show.

Keep posting your experiences with your boat!

Howdy and Welcome Aboard!

That sounds like a GREAT boat to have in the Caribbean.

My Suggestion: Post some photos when you get a chance. Point out the features you like most (in photos) as I am sure that will help others get an "owner's" point of view of features.

Given your extensive chartering experience, I would also be interested to see/hear what you see in your boat that makes it nice. Those points in a separate thread in the Multihull forum would likely be appreciated by others too.

Thanks Steady Hand. Go to the Fountaine Pajot forum and you'll start seeing some postings from me with more information on the Saba 50 and my observations.

Hi Cuvée. I just stumbled across this thread. Your boat is fantastic. I was fortunate enough to take her out on her first charter. Yes, I'm on this forum too! I will check on the FP forum and look for your comments there.

Re: Hello from Saba 50, Cuvée

Hello Cuvee,

Looking multihull in range between 40-60’ and 50 is about ideal. The Saba is the one currently on the highest ranking on my list.
Interested to see when the Neel 65 comes out and what it costs but so far Saba is I believe highest on the list.
I think there should be a general thread for each boat. Is there one for Saba? I cant seem to find it.

Cheers,
Magnus
