Hello from s/v Citla in La Paz, BCS

Greetings from the Sea of Cortez! We just spent our first season cruising the west coast of Mexico and the Sea of Cortez. It's been great. Great people, great fellow sailors and beautiful cruising grounds! Be bashing back to California this summer due to family health issues, but hope to return to the sea in the fall.

We've been old Mexico and Baja travelers for decades, but find that exploring by sea adds a whole new dimension to our travels. Meeting fellow cruisers has been very rewarding. As a group, they're friendly and generous with their time and expertise. It's still nice to take side trips inland and experience Mexico away from the coastal development. Baja California continues to enchant us and we find La Paz still beautiful and charming over the years of visiting here.

While you can't go wrong with any of the marina facilities in La Paz, Marina de La Paz is our favorite. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly and there are a wide variety of services offered on site. It's also centrally located to the historical downtown La Paz. Hope to hear from more of our fellow travelers in the forum.

Welcome to the Forum, neophytes, we're glad you've joined us. It's always a pleasure to read the accounts of new CF posters.

There is another thread you might enjoy reading and, perhaps, posting to. It is http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/...ico-26267.html and I'm sure you could offer lots of interesting observations to that thread.

Again, welcome to Cruisers Forum. Make yourselves comfortable, explore the site and feel free to ask if you have any questions. There are lota of friendly folks here eager to help, just like the cruisers you've met "out there." (They might even be some of the same people.) ;-)

Aloha Neo,
Welcome aboard! Did you happen to cross paths with friends Barry and Pat on Pacific Voyager or Scott and Leslie on Faieoahe?
Just curious.
Good to have you posting here and hope the health issues are taken care of successfully.
Kind regards,
JohnL

Photo's from our cruise

Oceangirl,
We've posted a few photo's from our cruise at www.neophytecruiser@blogspot.com They're but a fraction of those we took and are not 'coffee table' quality, but give a flavor of some of our journey.

Sailing the Dream

There, FIFY.

Nice little blog. I'll be sailing the SoC someday.

Thanks for your comment. I'm sure you'll enjoy your time in the Sea of Cortez. Plan on staying more than one season, there's so much to see.

We have been at Baja Naval in Ensenada for 3 years, now we are headed for La Paz. Where can I dry dock there? Thanks, Tim
