Hello, this is my first post and thought i would try this forum to get back home to South Africa. (I am currently near Rome working on a friends farm) Anyway as far as the ride, I will post those specifics later in the proper forum, but if anyone hears about anyone going that way, please drop me a line.

Im a fun, common sense type person, a former triathlete, and a sailor with 3 years of experience. I love cooking, talking about life, learning skills from established sailors and just enjoying life. I am a former swimming coach, a current scuba instructor (Padi) and Im just finishing up a tour of Europe via Bicycle. 3000km to date...

Now I want to try to sail with my bicycle back to Cape Town or Durbin sometime between now and January 2013.

I hope to get involved on this forum and hopefully find a ride back home.

Good to have you here and I've enjoyed all the things that you are into while younger.
You might post in the crew positions wanted threads. Go to the top bar and click on the forums button. Click again to get rid of the pop up and then scroll down the the crew section.

I think it would be more fun to ride your bike back to Capetown rather than try to make the trip by sea. Not much to look at during all that time at sea.

You are correct, but I love the water, and there are always port calls. If you ever hear of anyone going down to Cape Town, I can meet anywhere in Europe for the ride. Really want to get back on the water....

On second thought I have decided to make me getting passage a bit more likely. I can meet whomever is going to South Africa, ANYWHERE in Europe, with enough notice.

Some more things about me. I do not smoke or do drugs. I am not a heavy drinker and almost never drink while underway unless the Captain approves.
I am physically fit, and can be depended on to get the job done. I have a sense of duty, and a good work ethic. I am flexible and can roll with the punches. I don't quit, I don't panic, and I can work through stressful situations.

If you have read this post and you know of someone going to South Africa, please forward my thread to them or let them know.

I will meet them anywhere in Europe.
