Hello from Raleigh NC

Hi, my name is Thomas, new to sailing. I am a non traditional student studying Engineering here in Raleigh NC. Was introduced to sailing years ago while visiting the Philippines, a friend recently invited me to go sailing again, and I caught the bug. Planning on improving my skills and purchasing a sailboat after graduation, in December.

Hope to learn from all of you and see you on the water.

Thomas

Wow! Too cool, I went to NCSU for engineering too... ended up with a degree in Microbiology since I sucked at engineering. I'm a few years ahead of you too... class of Dec. 2003.
Tell us about your trip to the Philippines. Sounds awesome!

Re: Hello from Raleigh NC

Not much to say really, was on deployment on the Enterprise we pulled into NAS Cubi Point, we rented a Catalina sailboat, i think it was a 25, realize this was back in 1990 so it's been awhile. But spent the day sailing around Subic Bay, had a blast though. As for other things that happened in the Philippines, well lets just leave them their for another night.
