Hello, from Punta Gorda, FL

Hi everyone! My name is eric, and I'm new to the site. My wife and I are first time boat owners, and are loving the life. Our boat is a 1999 Larson Cabrio 254, and we couldn't be happier!

I look forward to many good conversations, and even learning a thing or two from all of the experienced boaters out there.

Cheers!

Welcome Eric,

I used to live in Port Charlotte!

Out in Los Angeles now, prepping for our circumnavigation on our 46' sloop. South Pacific or BUST!!!.
You will deff enjoy boating where you are. Do you know the Charlotte Harbor well? If you need some tips on where might be some cool cruising in that area, hit me up!

Deuces!!!

Welcome aboard! Punta Gorda is one of my favorite places. I have a cousin who lives there and a friend with a house there. He keeps a 25 foot outboard on a lift behind the house and we've had a lot of fun there.
Have you been to the Navi-Gator Bar and Grill up the Peace River? You can get there by car or boat. Fun place, good food.

Re: Hello, from Punta Gorda, FL

Jordiensocal,

I've learned the waters is Charlotte Harbor pretty well in the last 7 months. The wife and I just went boat camping at a Marina on Boca Grande last weekend. We're prepping for a boat trip to Key West. Much more affordable when sleeping on the boat. Plus, we love being on the water, whether we are moving or not. Good luck on your trip. I'll watch for updates!

What neighborhood does your friend live in? We, also, keep our boat on a lift behind our house. We have a 25' Larson. We've been to Navi-Gators by car, but not by boat, yet.

Re: Hello, from Punta Gorda, FL

I have a number of friends in Punta, Gorda with houses and condos from our hometown of Clarksville, TN, and we currently have our boat there at Fisherman's Village. We have been there since December 6 and are starting our return trip to Kentucky Lake on March 1. We've spent a lot of time there over the years and it is a great town.

We are flying back down next Thursday from Tennessee to get re provisioned and ready to travel north. We've had such a great time, we will probably come back next winter.

"What neighborhood does your friend live in?"
I think it's Punta Gorda Isles. He enters the canal through the channel by Fisherman's Village.

Yep, that's PGI. We live in Burnt Store Isles, get to the harbor through Alligator Creek.

Re: Hello, from Punta Gorda, FL

As I recall there is a restaurant up Alligator Creek that you can get to by boat.
Is it any good?

Yes, it's called the Riviera Oyster Bar Restaurant. We haven't eaten there, but I hear nothing but good things about it.
