Hello from Puerto Vallarta

Hello everyone, just a short note to say our family has been cruising the west coast of NA. and are currently in Mexico. Our son has now started University so we're down to 3 crew, wife and daughter, and myself.
Looking forward to discussions

I hope you are enjoying P.V. I made it there from S.F. Ca. to enjoy New Year's eve in 03. Had the pleasure of the area until April 05. WELCOME, and enjoy your stay both there, and here.........i2f

I was in PV on Christmas Eve. We were only there for a day- sorry I missed you...I was on that obnoxious cruise boat. Hey- do you know who owns Dream weaver in Mazatlan? That boat is going to be a shipwreck if someone does not save it in the next couple of weeks.

welcome to the forum,
With a boat name that translates, "Teacher of the sea" I assume you must be experienced. Don't be shy, share some of your wisdom! Glad to have you here,
Spencer

Boat name

You misunderstood the meaning of the boat's name, it's teaching us the ways of the sea.

Got it!,
That makes sense! Either way it is a pretty cool name.

Welcome....we are currently anchored in Mazatlan with 3 on board as well (husband, daughter 18 and myself).
We plan to be in Mazatlan until approx. the end of January and then head to PV.
Maybe we will run into each other

Jackie- did you see that boat anchored up by the lighthouse mountain? It looks like it needs to get out of there, or the owner needs to rescue it. I stopped by the boatyard to the west of it and they said it had not moved in over 2 years. Dream-catcher or weaver or something like that. The paint was almost gone. Its too bad- because it looks like a lot of equipment is being ruined.

Newt,
We haven't been to Mazatlan for about 3 years now so I really don't even recognize the name. I am surprised it survived the SW swell that I heard rolled in there this year after hurricane Rick. i'd heard it demolished the fishing fleet that was anchored up in there.

Yes I believe I know which boat you are talking about but I thought it was on a mooring over there. Maybe we will dinghy over there in the next day or two and take a look at what is going on. I know the roller furler sail is pretty much ruined...sad really.

Jackie- maybe get some identifying info (model, number if it is on the back of the boat) I don't know how to track the owner down, but I agree-topsides it is a mess. It will be a wreck with the next big storm. It may be on a mooring, but i saw the boat move about 50 feet with the tide- which i thought would be an anchor.
Disclaimer- I have only seen the boat from shore, so I don't know what you will find.
