Hello from Portsmouth UK

Hi Cruisers

I'm a newcomer so thought I'd say hello. I sail a Rustler 36 (Amoret) based in Portsmouth UK, am about to retire and am currently planning a cruise from Sep 2008 to July 2009 visiting NW Spain, Portugal, Madeira, Canaries, Cape Verde Is and Azores. I hope to come across some of you on this trip, of which I am sharing various parts with my wife Olivia and with various friends.

Hello from Southampton UK.
House is up for sale to do the same thing, hopefully pretty soon.
I'm (Sorry: We are) looking at secound hand cat's as a liveaboard and long term med cruising.
If we go any further it will be to visit Fastcat's hideaway.
Portugal day tripping on an old timber fishing boat sold us on going afloat.
Albufeira has a tidy new marina. Portimao has a lovely free harbour and will make a good stop over after the Biscay. Let us all know how it goes, please.

Welcome Tony, from the sister city of Portsmouth Va. In england when talking on the telephone, do you have to tell them "it is spelled like ports mouth, not port smith" ??? one of my regional dilemmas.....

Aloha Tony,
Welcome aboard! Good to have you here. There seem to be quite a few folks from the UK on the forum. We can always use a few more.
Kind Regards,
JohnL

Meets and Greets

Welcome. I excavated the Mary Rose 25 years ago and they were the best 3 years of my life....even when the Solent got ugly....laughed my ass off (as they say).
