hello from portland,oregon!

hello to all sailors and pirates,
im looking for experience, advice, know-how, the in's and out's of sailing. so, any one that is in the portland/ vancouver area that needs a sailing buddy, i would love to go! im not partial to make, color, size, or age... (of boats or captains) although, i really like the character and detail of older boats!
my BIG plan is to leave the land and live aboard a sailboat, so before i totally dive into the lifestyle, i want to know everything about it and how to do it... and how much it will take... mentally, physically, and financially.
so thank in advance for any tips and advice! happy sailing!

Aloha Dustin,
Welcome aboard! If you can go find a marina there in Portland, check the bulletin boards for crew wanted. If there are any cheap yacht or sailing clubs then maybe that would be a good place to look too.
There were a couple of Portlanders contributing on the forum awhile back so I know we have sailors there.
I'm originally from Salem and all my close relatives live there. Unfortunately, none of them are sailors.
Kind regards,
JohnL
