HELLO FROM MEDITERRANEAN SEA-TURKEY

I am a 50 yo food scientist (living in Ankara, Turkey). I have been sailing for 5 years in Med Sea approx. 3500 nm. I am an experienced sailor, I have got licence from IYT, Yatchmaster Offshore ( I will got it at Nov 2015). I am looking for opportunities for joining a boat as volunteer mate, for short trips in 2016, and then for circumnavigation or long trips after 2016. I sailed in Turkish and some Greek waters and islands, and two 10 days passage ( 1000 nm each, with 25 hours night watch for each); Corfu- Crotone- Rocella Ionica- Messina Canal- Palermo- Sardegna- Palma de Mallorca & Lagos-Villa Real de San Antonio- Gibraltar- Malaga- Fromentara- Ibiza- Olbia. I planned a trip from Fethiye-Rodos- Crete- Santorini- Kefalonia-Tilos-Datca at October. I haven't got any boat, I have been join to monohull sailing boats as volunteer or with bareboat facility. I am a good cook, experienced sailor, got course on meteorology, positive, happy person. There is only one thing I have to say that I smoke.

I hope I can get together with "real" sailors.

Thanks, and nice winds

Re: HELLO FROM MEDITERRANEAN SEA-TURKEY

Howdy Skipyash and Welcome Aboard CF!

You posted a good introduction with much good info about your sailing experience and goals. Good!

Since you are new to this forum, let me mention a few things you might miss but that could help you more enjoy your time here:

WIKI
Take a look at the Cruising WIKI that is found via the tab up on the top menu bar of the forum. It has a LOT of information in it you might find fun, interesting, or helpful.

Looking for Quick Answers?

This is the best and fastest method I have found to the answers I seek here.
Since you are relatively new to the forum, here is my favorite friendly forum search tip: Look at the green menu bar on the forum pages for the drop down "Search" menu. Click on that to drop down a list of search functions. From that drop down menu select the GOOGLE CUSTOM search feature (the second box down) and then enter several different descriptive terms for your topic of interest. That will do a Custom google search of ONLY this site and it is likely to find answers to your questions or results for you. Note: this is different from using the regular forum search box or field. Also note, this is NOT found if you use the CF app. It IS found if you use a web browser such as Safari, etc.
