Hello Back.........

I am considering arriving September / October 2007 in advance of the 2007 ARC and would appreciate local knowledge on best places to cruise and visit around the Canary Islands.

Any local tips you can provide would be really welcomed.

Cheers
JOHN

Smile Racing calendar october in Canaries

Hello again:
the dates for next years races are not set now, with this year date you can have an idea and start thinking about what to do:

In octuber is something like big party sailing here, we travell (not in j80) sail and race also a sun fast 37 in the other islands , Gran Canaria and Tenerifa.

Usually you have first:
TROFEO PRINCIPE DEASTURIAS (R.C.N.GRANCANARIA) in Gran Canaria this year date (from 30 to 2 october)
TROFEO INFANTA CRISTINA (R.C.N.TENERIFE) in tenerifa

this year date (from 7 to 9 october)
TROFEO CESAR MANRIQUE (C.C.N.A) in lanzarote
this year date (from 14 to 16 october)

These are spanish championship races, you have tp52 sailing, Canarian Championship, all they are all open

Search for trofeo cesar manrique in j80lanzarote.com and you can have an idea.

You can travell 3 island in 3 weeks just racing....
regards : Miguel

if you have any more question ask again,

sorry for my english

Hi Miguel,
Thanks for the advice on the racing calender, but whilst not adverse to beating it round the racetrack, our current yacht is not rated and we tend to cruise most places.
So it is places of interest for cruising - your suggestions on maybe the best itinery to cover all the islands - that would interest me the most.
Cheers
JOHN
PS - Apesadumbrado para mi español terrible - tan malo no puedo incluso intentarlo aquí.

Hi again...
You dont need to race, you can just travell with them from one Island to another, and there are normal yacths too, we sail a sun fast 37.

ANYWAY have a look to this link, distances are from lanzarote, and you have usefull info
