Hello from Landlocked Austria

Hi All,
My husband and I recently purchased a beautiful Lavezzi 40 (currently in charter in Croatia). We'll be taking our first trip on her around Croatia in a few weeks!

We live in Salzburg, Austria and are interested in all things sailing and diving. (Well, to be perfectly honest, I'm just learning about the sailing part now, but am loving it so far! (Julie))

Glad to be aboard!

Julie and Markus Leeb

Welcome to cruisersforum, Julie & Markus.

I hope you'll get as much enjoyment as you can from your new boat. And get to learn how to actually sail.

Welcome aboard.

Aloha Julie and Markus,
Welcome aboard. You'll really like this forum. If you have questions the people here have the answers.
I learned to sail on Chiemsee a bit West of Salzburg. Isn't Mozart's birthplace there?
Have fun on your new boat.
Regards, --John--

Hi John,

You're bang on. In fact, this year is his 250th birthday! (Back in January, but the whole year is devoted to all things Mozart.) I think a couple of English papers I read refered to us as "Schmaltzburg" this year.

Thanks for the welcome to the board! And we will certainly post pictures of our new "baby".

Cheers,
Julie

Hi Markus and Julie, welcome aboard. My wife's brother and his family live in Austrai. A place called "Bruck an der Mur".
Actually we are going over to see them in your summer of 2008. You never know, maybe we may bump into each other.

Welcome...I am new to the board too, although I have been reading it for quite some time now. I just wanted to say hello, and that I thought Austria had to have been one of the most beautiful countries I have ever been to. I was stationed for several years in Germany, and my two favorite places to visit were Norway and Austria. Stayed at a family place called Villa Nove (I think that spelling is right) when we were in Salzburg. Overlooked the city and the castle, and was absolutely stunning. I hope to go back one day.

Hi Wheels, Mack,

If you end up in our area, please do contact us! (I love it when English-speaking visitors come! I'm originally from Canada and muddling my way through German now.) We'll take you out for beer and schnitzel. Mack, I'm really enjoying the forum too! Learning lots, and my husband is thrilled I'm asking about things like sail drives...
