Hello from Lake Simcoe

Hi everyone,
Just wanted to say hello from the shores of lake Simcoe in Ontario Canada. My wife and I took a sailing course this summer and loved it! Now we're hooked and want to sail around the world with our two kids...
Just wanted to say hi and nice to be here!

I second the welcome. As another Lake Simcoe sailor I would encourage you to explore the lake and get a little cruising experience before starting the round the world adventure. We have found numerous excellent anchorages around the islands and points around the lake but most nights we are the only boat at anchor. Given that the area of the lake covers an area similar to what people sail in the BVIs and waters get warm enough for pleasant swimming it is an excellent place to experience a bit of the lifestyle.

Welcome and Fair Winds.!!! Where there's a will there's a way.!

And when I find, "Will," I hope to get my dream vessel and can start my adventures.!

For training, I currently own the WindRider 16, in my avatar. I don't sail as often as I would like. Life sometimes, translation usually, gets in the way. Also, though small, my current vessel seems to need work as my knowledge base of sailing expands.

Hi Henry!
We're still a few years off from our adventure and will definitely be getting some cruising experience on the lake before hitting the ocean. Where do you sail out of? We took lessons at Kon-Tiki marina this past summer.

We sail out of Crates in Keswick. We are easy to spot as we sail the only cruising catamaran on the lake - a PDQ32. We are anchored off Sibbalds Point at the moment.
