Hello from Kabul, Afghanistan

Hello Ladies & Gents,

I'm an American Expat living and working over in Afghanistan doing "stuff" , I will be purchasing a Catamaran in the near future , have been scoping out specifically the Antares 44i and Discovery 50.

No stranger to sailing .. have sailed with my folks quite a few times out in Hawaii , Guam, Key West .. grew up as a military brat.

Had my FP stern to in Bermuda when this cat pulled in. Never seen one like it. Nor had my crew and they have been around a lot of cats. Stopped over to chat with them and it turns out to be the very first discovery 50. Owned and sailed over from Britain by John and Caroline. The founder of sunsail and supper nice people. Mix a mean gin and tonic. Gave me an extensive tour of the boat and it is very well done. They put a lot of thought into what the owner of a short handed boat would need to be safe and comfortable. If you do enough "stuff" to be able to get into one of those I think you would be a very happy sailor.

Well, I do not get much time. Been down to the KNB (Kuwait Naval Base) a few times though. I work VERY LONG hours

I know nothing about sailing, but need to learn. I grew up in powerboating all my life on the Chesapeake Bay (Trojan's (not what your thinking..BOATS), Pacemakers, Cruise Alongs, Criss Crafts)

I am! Considering it felt like sitting in front of a furnace turned to full blast while sitting in the shade, I was very happy to leave.

Indoors wasn't too bad... AC was Everywhere!
