Hello From Juneau, AK

Hello,

I just joined today. I live in Southeast Alaska, having just retired from State service and will finally have the time to enjoy my 38' refurbished Tollycraft. I use it primarily for fishing and pleasure cruising in and around Southeast AK. Looking forward to participating in this forum. It appears that there are members from around the world and many from the Pacific Northwest, where I grew up sailing and cruising the San Juan islands (many years ago). I have also transited the inside passage from Puget Sound to Juneau in 1983 when I brought our cruiser into Alaska waters. It has not been outside since then. Fortunately, I also own a floating boathouse for moorage. It helps keep it dry and out of the weather, which can be quite harsh on a vessel up here. I have been steadily refurbishing and updating my boat for the last 20 years, so I will probably be looking for helpful tips on various issues.

I am more than happy to offer any insights or information for those who are planning to cruise up this way.

Thanks again for allowing me to join this forum. Best Regards and Safe Boating to all!

Re: Hello From Juneau, AK

Hi Cloudone and welcome,

Cruising AK is definitely on my list. Never been there, even by plane or car, but all the pictures I've seen it looks spectacular. Won't see you soon as I still have a couple of years before I retire. But one day in the next few years.
