Hello from Indiana

Hello from Indiana! I have been an avid reader and follower of the forum for a year or so. I am constantly amazed at the level of enthusiasm shown here. My wife and I are getting ready to start a new phase of our lives.
For the last couple of years we have been taking sailing lessons and sailing whenever we can. We are now ready (or at least think we are) to purchase a boat. We sold our power boat a year or so ago and are ready to move to sail.
Our plan is to purchase a 40 something boat and keep it in Florida. While we live in Indiana our work will now allow us to be in Florida most of the winter. So the boat will be our Florida home while we hone our sailing skills. Later we want to do the Bahamas and then hopefully the Caribbean.
As we move forward we have many questions and feel this forum will be a great place to get ideas and views.
Bob

Re: Hello from Indiana

Greetings Bob, we are from Indiana as well. We sold our sail boat and bought a trawler that we live on in the Keys. Keep us posted on the boat search.

Re: Hello from Indiana

Hi Bob -- my husband's name is Bob also and we are in Elkhart, Indiana. I have 3 years to work yet and we have 9 rentals to sell before we can leave. We are hoping to get a catamaran and have dive capabilities (to refill tanks) on board and plan to fish a lot. I have been following this forum for two years now. It is amazing how friendly everyone is. What part of Indiana are you located in?
