Hello from France

Hello all,

My name is Yves born in Belgium and living since more than 20 years in France.

Me and my wife got both infected with the dream of buying a boat, selling the house including all the unnecessary stuff we collected over the years and sail the world. I could go on for a bit longer as why I am/we are so eager but I will keep that for another time. I am blessed in being married with someone who's as eager as me to explore the world and meet some new people and cultures.

The dream is put on hold with the arrival of our daughter so the plan is to wait with the boat project until she is out of her diapers. That gives us plenty of time to read here on the forum and get some of the questions answered.

For now our mission is reading and gathering information, a lot to learn before we get ourselfs in trouble.

Bye for know,

Yves

Re: Hello from France

Welcome Yves and congratulations for your daughter. Although we did not cruise the world we did cruise the Bahamas and Caribbean for a year when our daughter was still in diapers.

Other than dealing with smelly diapers (which you will do anyway but it is a bit more trouble when you are cruising) we only recall one problem with that time. We moved back to land when our daughter was just two and she is still angry because we took her cruising when she was too young to remember it.

Bonne chance.

Merci!

A good point you made but part of all this is to give both girls (oldest is 6 years) a unique experience in their life. We would not stop after 1 or 2 years, we are both unhappy in the society we currently live in where we seem to work, only work and pay taxes with little or no time taken to relax and enjoy life.
