Hello from Florida

I've been cruising the eastern and southern Caribbean for 5 years, logging over 17,000 nm. We returned to Florida last year to replenish the cruising kitty before continuing on to the western Caribbean and maybe across the Pacific. I'm not exactly a cruising expert but will try to help in any way I can. I'm sure I'll be posting my fair share of questions also.

I also have a web site dedicated to personal security products for cruisers, pamcompersonalsecurity.com, that you may be interested in. Several times in our travels I wished I'd had some of these products aboard. You'll also find my blog on the web site. I'm currently posting the gory details of our shakedown voyage from CT to Curacao in 2001. Right now I'm sitting at the dock so I'm really looking forward to talking with all of you who are out there cruising.

Anyone who tells you after 17,000 NM that "I'm not exactly a cruising expert", definitely gets it and is worth listening to.

Welcome aboard.
