Re: Hello from Down Under Down Under

g'Day Addict, and welcome to CF.

Ann and I have spent 17 summers cruising Tassie and are just beginning our migratory path to return once again, so perhaps our paths will cross. If you'll tell us the name of your yacht and where you are located, we'll keep an eye out for you.

Meanwhile, enjoy the forum and your sailing.

Jim

Thanks Fore and Aft, no heater just a strong constitution and a warm bed.

Re: Hello from Down Under Down Under

Hi Diesel Bill, think I might have typed into the wrong box so I'll try again. Tasmania is situated in the roaring 40s and hangs down below the rest of the Australian main land so we catch weather from the Southern Ocean to our west and south. This can lead to sudden changes and strong conditions at certain times of the year. Despite this draw back it is a fantastic cruising ground with beautiful anchorages, wild isolated areas and amazing sea life. We have the highest boat ownership per head of population in Australia which says a lot for a country that has most of it's population living around the coast line. Cheers, C.
