I am well aware of that . I worry more about hurricanes then lightning. Besides rain is weird here. It comes for a bit then vanishes for a long time.

I am new to boating, just bought an old 22 ft sail. I am not seasons and would like to make friends and get pointers and maybe some help from others. I want to learn about living on the hook, weather and navigation. I just passed my Asa 101 certain and will be taking my Asa 103 basic cruising in April. They will teach me about anchoring. I am a young solo sailor so it would be nice to get to know others. Thx

I reckon you'll be able to learn enough about anchoring here to enable you to teach them a thing or a hundred and two.

Welcome from Kuwait too!!

Aloha and welcome aboard!
Good to have you here on the forum. Anchoring is different wherever you go because the bottom is always different. Learning to anchor where you normally are located is good but don't depend on things to be the same worldwide.
kind regards,
