Hello from Chesapeake Bay

I am taking the year off with my husband, 12 year old daughter and dog to cruise the Caribbean. We will leave the Bay mid Oct to go down the ICW then FL to Bahamas and Caribbean. Learning as we go! Appreciate unsolicited advice!

Welcome! What are you cruising in? What's your take-off point? For example, the ICW from Fort Worth to Biscayne Bay has 29 lift bridges. Do you have the off shore experience to head for the Bahamas, and if not, how do you plan to get it? Where in the Bahamas? Lots of topics here, if we knew a bit more about your goals, your boat, and your experience. It's wonderful that you have the opportunity. There are people here who can help you make it a success if they know more. They certainly helped me.
