Hello from Arkansas

Hi all. I'm Frank and my captains name is Kimberley. We're both greenhorns concerning the boating life but hope to be free and clear within the next 2 years and living on our own craft (how many times have you heard that?). Just reading the other greetings I have already gathered good info and appreciate the enthusiasm shown by other sailors on here. Hopefully by spring I'll have found a patient individual to teach us the skills needed to sail a boat. ANY information on buying and maintaining a catamaran would also be great.

Greetings and welcome aboard the CF, Frank & Kimberly.

I have no idea what pullord was trying to say; but I expect it was encouraging and supportive.

Frank you need to start some place and here isn't a bad choice. Maybe you were just lucky -but it still counts and always will. Lots here to keep your interest as you learn all the important questions. It really is about the questions and less about the answers.

Yes, welcome.

That's what I've needed, the right questions.
Found 'em here plus a lot more.

Aloha and welcome aboard!
What I know about catamarans is that they have two hulls so need more bottom paint compared to a monohull the same length. Also when you sail them its really good to keep one hull in the water at all times.
kind regards,

Well, I'm learning already. I think (admit) a 30-35 foot mono-hull sailboat is more within my budget, purchase wise. Do the various ports or harbors have a standard charge to tie up to the anchor bouys? Where/how does one go about emptying the commode holding tank? Do ports have a time limit before you have to claim some sort of "citizenship" to the respective country?
