Hello from a Newbie

Thank you for accepting me to your site. My son and I just purchased a 30' Trojan sea raider and are anxious to get her in the water, I'm sure i'll have alot of questions. This boat will mainly be used in Lake Erie and the Detroit river. My first question where do I find downloadable charts to install in the opencpn? Thanks all!!!!

Welcome to CF!

Here are couple of places to start. There are others if you search around.

Nautical Charts & Pubs
Chart Downloader for NOAA ENCŪ

Wherever we want to go, we go. That's what a ship is you know - it's not just a keel and a hull and a deck and sails, that's what a ship needs. But what a ship is...really is, is freedom. ~Johnny Depp as Capt. Jack Sparrow

Aloha and welcome aboard!
My first job in the Navy was in a fireroom on a Destroyer Escort working with BTs. You have any relation to the US Navy?
