Smile Hello Fellow Sailors!

Hi,

My name is Alex and I love sailing. I have sailed since I was 13, but mostly on dinghies. I have sailed on yachts twice, once in Greece and once in Croatia. Both times were thoroughly enjoyable and I would love to be able to do it again.

Anywho thats me, looking forward to meeting others on this forum and enjoying my time here.

Bye for now,
Alex

Re: Hello Fellow Sailors!

Welcome aboard Alex. I just joined a short while ago myself and have found it to be an interesting, useful and sometimes entertaining resource!

I have long said that sailing is addictive: Once you are hooked, it is hard to kick the habit.

Do you have an opportunity to sail now?

Andrew

Alex, Welcome aboard. I started sailing at your age, only 30 years ago. Your website looks good, and I wish you well with it. Feel free to contact me at mine, www.seaworthysolutions.net , if there is anything I can help you with, Scott

Re: Hello Fellow Sailors!

I'm so happy. It seems someone who started sailing at 13 (me too!) is older than me now.... no clues as to who tho!

Yes I am totally addicted to it, I am an adrenaline junky! Nothing could be better blasting down the ocean in boat in Force 8

I sail dinghies in North West London at a reservoir called the Welsh Harp. We sail GP14s and I race every Saturday. I won the winter sailing series for the first time, which I am extremely pleased about and we are about to start the spring series.

Thanks Scott! I started my website in 2009 and it gets around 500 unique visitors a day, which is good. It will hopefully pay for part of my university education.

I am 18 years old and on my gap year. I am working at an engineering company in central London and am then going to the University of Bristol to study Mechanical Engineering. I am looking forward to joining the university team and start team racing, which can be extremely tactical!

I made a video about how I started sailing, which you can see here: About Me Sailing

Thanks again for your responses and making me feel welcome!

Best regards,
Alex

Gosh, so you're ancient. I just assumed from your demeanour that you were older.

Your video is cool, and your site is excellent - so very informative. I'm doing an MA in online education, and I think very few of my fellow students (myself included) would be capable of such a project! WOW!! Good work!
