I'm another new person (sailing was never on my list of must dos but the OH loves it). After about 8 years on our 26 footer I started to enjoy. We now have a bigger boat and the intention to do some coastal cruising and I feel it an appropriate time to join this very informative and friendly forum.

Horrible wet and windy day in Wellington today. Spent last night in the marina rocking in the wind and not getting much sleep.

Just got back in from a trip to Prt Ligar. Mate!! 40knt couldn't see a damn thing, the water was just white with spray.

Been pretty wild again. Just dropped tonight out there. Weather gods must know the weekend is over.

Believe me we've had the winds here too!

We have mostly just been sailing here in the bay although we did have a great trip to Mahia labour weekend with a group of 10 other boats. Great fun apart from the southerly on the return trip.
