Hello all,

This is all new to me, I have never been in a message group before but I am looking forward to learning more about sailing from all of you. I just moved here to Tampa Florida from Italy. I do not own a boat but when I lived in north Florida many years ago we lived in a coastal town about a mile from the city dock and everyone told me that you can't live in Florida without a boat so I got an 18 foot moter boat with a 50 horse moter to go around in the bay where we lived and up the river some and out in the gulf a little. A man and his wife were sailing to Europe and stoped by for a few days and I met them at our church. They invited my wife and I to eat with them on their sail boat and invited us to sail with them down to the keys. I couldn't get away from work that soon so I couldn't make it. But I have thought a lot about that trip and more so now that I am back in Florida and retiring this year or next I am thinking of geting a sail boat and crusing around Tampa Bay and the keys and maybe the Sea. But I have a lot to learn about sailing before all that. I have only sailed a small boat myself a couple of times in my life so any and all advice would be more than welcome.
