Hello All ! Looking to Ship Out !

Hey everyone. My name is James and I am twenty three years old, recently graduated college at the University of Hartford with a degree in English. I've been around boats since I was three. My father used to have a thirty two foot pacemaker in Westbrook, CT. My parents were both teachers so I spent all of my summers on the boat eating oreos and listening to the waves lap against the v birth as I slept.

Now that I am done with school I am trying to set my life goals and one of them is to be a sailboat owner living aboard and sailing to distant ports by the time I'm thirty five.

I'd love if any of you fine folks could give me any information about sailing and I would welcome all my new friends from this forum.

I would also like to say that I would love to volunteer to sail with any of you. I admit that although I've been around motor boats my whole life I don't know much about sailing, but I need to learn all I can. I travel a lot and hopefully I could meet up with some of you and search for some adventure. Thanks for your time and I look forward to meeting you all.

Hey James...welcome to the forum.
Good first post!
If you have a marina near by, hanging out there and getting to know some of the local sailors will go a long way to getting you on a boat.

I love my boat, I can't afford not to!

Aloha and welcome aboard!
Its good to have you here. It'd be good to find a sailing or yacht club that offers lessons and invites you to races.
