Hello, All

Hello, All.

As requested I am introducing myself. My name is Michael Remillard and I go around the St-Lawrence in the Quebec City area in a kayak (sorry, no sail).

Re: Hello, All

I am certain that I would also enjoy sailing because what I enjoy most when kayaking is the wind and spray on my face along with the movement of the water - the bigger the waves the more I like it. So whether I am kayaking or sailing I can still always get this. But being in so small a craft also adds to the thrill. The bigger the boat the bigger the waves have to be to get me the feeling that I long for. Working with the waves is like taking part of a dance where your partner is the water. The only thing one has to remember is that in this dance it is she who is leading. This "dance" is a little less of a concern as the boat gets bigger. Also, I don't believe that I would have too much success trying to "roll" with a sail boat. That is one part of kayaking that I like a lot but which is unique to kayaking.

Aloha and welcome aboard!
Good to have you here and the first thing we teach in our beginner class is how to capsize and recover in our small sailing dinghies.
Fun in warm water.
kind regards,
