Hello all

Finally registered on this forum after a few weeks of lurking.

Hubby and me and Brisbane based. Both mid forties with no kids. Very keen scuba divers who both love life on and under the water.

Decision has been made to sell up, buy a catamaran and bugger off around the world , with a leave date of two years from now. Planning on being out for at least the next 10 -15 years.

Hubby has sailed previously, but we are both going to to start training up to RYA Day skipper level.

Looking at buying either a Lagoon 400 or 42 or a Fountaine Pajot 44. As this is to be our home, then we want comfort and a bit if space.

Any advice will be most welcome. I dare say I will be posting a few thousand questions over the coming months....
Cheers
Heg

Re: Hello all

Welcome aboard, Heg,

Make sure you've got berth space for the cat. RQ may still have berths for sale.

That made me laugh. When you said "make sure you've got space for the cat" , I thought 'blimey -how does she know we have a pussycat?' Hahaha! blonde day.

What is RQ?

The plan is to sail around the world ,so hopefully wont need berth too often

Re: Hello all

Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron in Manly Boat Hbr. in Qld., south of the mouth of the Brisbane River. I believe you will need a berth for a while, while you shake down the boat prior to sailing off into the morning. Also, M.B.T.B.C. Marina may still have some, that's Moreton Bay Trailer Boat Club Marina.

Cheers,

Ann
