Hello!

Hello!

My boyfriend and I just recently came to own a fixer upper 40' 1968 Chris Craft Corinthian. We've only had her for a couple months now, but our fixing is well underway! The both of us are in our 20s (young blood...old boat) with a LOT of love for this boat and already, a lot of blood, sweat and bilge mess has been poured into her. If we didn't buy her, she was going to be chopped up, so we're trying to do right by her and give her a new life. We plan to move aboard in May in Stamford, CT.

We've been perusing the far corners of the internet and libraries to learn all we can about the Corinthian (and reading about living aboard in general). If anyone out there has any wisdom at all, we'd love to hear it!

Thanks!
Cristen

Re: Hello!

Welcome aboard! There's a lot of information here but not alwaya easy to find, the best way to search that seems to work for me is to use google and type in cruisersforum in the field before your topic of search, for example: cruisersforum living aboard. I never seemed to learn to use the CF search tool.
Cheers,
Erik

Re: Hello!

Hello. Congratulations ! Have you had the opportunity to visit Tigin ? Great place.

Tigin Irish Pub Stamford - Best Irish Pub in Stamford - Best Bar in Stamford

Let's see...Corinthian. If memory serves, double diagonal bottom and battened seam topsides.

Possibly the optional teak decks ? And a nice aft cabin ? or the sportfisher ?

A tank !

Is she on the hard ? It's difficult to find a haulout today where they give a hoot about a wooden boat.

Pictures are great if you can.

Great to hear you are enjoying the boat work

Thanks for the recommendation. Neither one of us have really spent much time in Stamford, so we will absolutely check out Tigin!

She's the sport fisher and on the hard right now. We're planning to take some pictures of the stem when we get to it (waiting for warmer/dryer weather) because we will definitely need some advice and input. As for other pictures, I've been trying my best to document our fixings as we go! Thanks for taking interest

Re: Hello!

On foot it's a hike and a half to the waterfront from downtown. There was another really good spot I can't recall the name, a block over, from Tigin, a sports bar, the bread bowl chili, forgetaboutit. Not much help, I know.

Well you guys have fun and stay safe. That boat design was part of the battlewagons that were used to fish the canyons. The next time I run across The Essential Guide, it's around here somewhere, I'll take a look at what the archives say about her.
