Gulf Coast - Panama City Florida

Hey there, my family just bought a Morgan 30-1. We've never owned a sailboat this large, only hobie cats, lasers, bucs etc.

Here's my son and I on the buc.

I'm excited to learn from the group's cumulative wisdom.

I'm talking to several boat yards about our haul out. How do you choose a boatyard?

Since you are talking 30 ft, I'll assume you are at a marina. I'd start striking up conversations with your dockmates, particularly with those whose boats look well maintained.

Ask them who they reccommend. People come and go at yards. One that did great work 2 years ago may have gone downhill.

Besides you'll make new friends!😎

Which Marina you at?
There are two yards I know of in PC, one you avoid. I learned the hard way.

Which one do you recommend? I'm leaning towards Bay County Boatyard.

I don't have a home marina, my family has a dock with two lifts for boats on the bay. I'm adding a slip for the sailboat this weekend.

Re: Gulf Coast - Panama City Florida

After being inspired by all the great videos by sailors on YouTube. I decided to record short videos of our sailboat rehab.
