Greetings from the UK !

I joined the Forum today and as suggested, just introducing myself.

I sail with my husband in the Solent, UK at the moment but we are planning to cross Biscay in June, then on to the Canaries and St Lucia. Hoping to spend a few years in the Caribbean and USA then on through Panama.

We have a Beneteau Oceanis 473 and have been preparing her and ourselves for our early retirement to the cruising life since 2008.

I am sure reading the forum will be really useful for us as we make our dream a reality and I look forward to your advice.

Thanks!

Rhian

Hello from manchester

Hi Rhi, and welcome, Beyzano was one of the boats I was interested in, just did not have all the money together at the time. Shortley are you bought her I found another blue hulled 473 which I bought last year.
Heading off for a solo cruise down to Aberystwyth starting tomorrow from Liverpool.
Good luck with your ARC

Congratulations.

Wish we had sold our home. We too are looking to buy a 473 and set sail.

Best Wishes.

Hi Rhian, read your blog and think you are a couple of months ahead of us, we are hoping to spend the summer in the med and then in Nov going over to the Caribbean, we have not bought our boat yet, we are looking at a sun odyssey 39 or 42, we are still looking for that special boat that ticks all our boxes. We are off to the Caribbean in early Feb to have 2 weeks on a yacht charter, which should give us our fix until we buy something in March/April. Good luck for now and will be following your progress with interest. - Tracey & Richard.

Thanks to everyone for their messages.

We will try to keep our website updated once we set off in June, so you can see if we made it across to St Lucia. Hopefully we will :-)
