Greetings from the Stone Age

Hello Everyone. Just found this forum and liked what I saw so I joined. My Family (wife - 2 kids) and I live on our 60' ferro cutter called Stone Age and ply the Gulf Island waters of Vancouver Island Canada. We bought the boat 4 years ago after selling our house. We are fitting her for a world voyage to begin summer 2010. Starting with a northerly cruise to Alaska then back down to either Mexico or Hawaii.. Haven't decided quite yet.

You can see a bit about our boat from the link in our signature. We are starting to get the re-fit process up on line so everyone can see. She is Center cockpit, cutter rigged sloop. 60' LOA and is classified as a modified double ender. i.e. canoe stern with a very small transom.

Great fun to sail and an awesome life to participate in.. If you see us out there, c'mon over and say HI!

Greetings Stone Age. Welcome aboard. Kept our boat on Vancouver Island for a year and loved it. If the air/water temp was a little warmer there woudl be no reason toleave. Good luck with voyage. I have a 12 year old and 10 year old. We hope to be in Mexico this time next year.

Aloha Stone Age,
Welcome aboard! Good to have you here. I'm keeping track of two couples who are currently in La Paz. Pacific Voyager started from Campbell River on Vancouver Island and Faiaoahe started from Moss Landing in CA. So, I know it can be done!
Kind regards,
JohnL

Welcome Stone Age
I had a look at your site...you've been busy.
Many of us are doing refits and will be most interested in your contributions.
Your boat’s looking nice.

Thanks Folks.

I appreciate the welcome. And yes, James, we have been busy. Boats are our life. Lucy and I work together, doing what we love to do (build stuff), both on our vessel as well as others from electric conversions to complete re-fits.

I look forward to reading many a good tale here. And contributing one or two my self..

Happy sailing.
