Greetings from Simonstown, South Africa

Hi to all the esteemed members of this forum. I am a recently qualified Day skipper for a sail boat and looking to increase my knowledge about "all things boats". Hanging around with you very knowledgeable bunch should help this process exponentially! I am an active volunteer with our Sea Rescue services. I am starting to give quite a bit of thought to purchasing a boat in the next few years and doing some cruising with my wife.....

Welcome to CF Wheelman !

You've found the right place to further you knowledge.... Best advice I can give is get out often... If you don't have access to a boat... Buy something small and affordable....

PS I once had a girlfriend from SA... Whew! FEISTY little thing!

I'm guessing that Sea Rescue down on the cape is no joke. Welcome aboard.
