Greetings from Seattle!

Howdy to all!

Other than Sailing 101 in college 30 years ago, I'm new to sailing in March of this year. I've gone through the US Sailing program at Windworks Sailing here in Seattle, and am finishing up my Bareboat Cruising test tomorrow.

I've caught the bug and have booked a week in the BVI in April with my wife on a 32' Sunsail. Our club is only a few miles from my house, so I get a lot of time on the Puget Sound.

Looking forward to meeting new people here and hopefully get to sail with new friends. If you're ever in Seattle and want to go out, drop me a line!

Cheers,

Dan

Hi Dan,
And welcome to the CF. What boat are you floating? And what's your favorite gunk hole here in the Puget Sound? Or should I say Salish Sea?

Hi Delmarrey!

I'm not an owner, but take boats from our fleet at www.windworkssailing.com in Shilshole Marina. There are some great boats in the fleet and it's fun sailing all the different boats to get a feel for what I like and what I don't. I'm 49 and the good Lord willing if I ever get to retire, I'd like to think I'll be an owner by then.

Besides, my wife likes the idea of pay as you go, and I don't have to spend what little time we have working on a boat. As I mentioned, this is year one of sailing, and have so much to learn! I crewed on a couple races out of Shilshole this year and think I'd like to do more of that. Great fun!

If you ever need some crew, don't hesitate to drop a line.

Cheers!

Dan

Welcome to the forum Dan, I've been up to Seattle area a half dozen times in the last year and a half, and envy your summer crusin' grounds. It's surprizing how many people I talk to from the area that don't sail.

Glad to see you went through a program and found a reasonably priced resource to build your sailing resume. Good luck in the BVI and reaching your goals

Summer is a grand time up here for sure

By all means, if you're in the area, drop a line and we'll head out. I'm only about 5 minutes from our club and love to show off the area.

Cheers!

Dan, thanks for the Link, I have been thinking about taking a sailing class but hadn't gone much beyond that... I live in Lynnwood, do you maintain the monthly membership?

Aloha and Welcome aboard!
You've got a great place to sail and I like the club idea.
regards,
