Greetings from Miami Beach

Hi. I am a newbie here. This is my first post and most likely won't be the last because I'm studying for the ASA certifications and next year I plan to take on a new lifestyle: to live aboard my own cruising catamaran and maybe someday circumnavigate the globe.

To make my bio short and sweet:
I am Argentine. I am American. I live in Miami Beach. I speak Spanish, French, English and Portuguese (in that order of proficiency, so please excuse my occasional "typos").

Net is the nickname I got from fellow PC gamers (yeah... I like PC games).

I'm almost 44, divorcing, no kids, selling a property and everything that won't be necessary aboard, and looking into buying a used owner's version cruising catamaran sometime during 2017 if all goes as planned (I have a broker already, for when I'm ready to proceed).

I have family living in the Balearic islands... Can't wait for that Atlantic crossing to pay'em a visit.

Cheers.

Thank you! Indeed, this is a great place to start. I suppose nothing beats sailing out of Miami or from Fort Lauderdale... although I have yet to see the Bahamas or the Virgin Islands.

Hola y boa noite, Net!

Fellow newbie as well in Fort Lauderdale. 43 and separated with kid though. Unfortunately I'm not able to sell everything yet or else I'd say let's go in on halves for a boat!

By the way, not Portuguese but the wife is. Picked a little up throughout the years. Anyways hope to see you around maybe. Take care.

Welcome, HorseGrenades! My ex is Brazilian. It helped improve my Portuguese too. Amazing woman. Too bad she's claustrophobic and does not like sailing.

Anyway, welcome and let's cross paths sometime (hopefuly not when skippering our boats).
