Welcome Kruso! How is anchoring in Ft. Myers? I heard it is legally hopping down there.

Hi Scallywag! Thanks for the reply.

Fort Myers is interesting. The mooring field there used to be quite cheap, then Salty Sam's Marina operated it for a while, now it's in the hands of the Matanzas Inn and they operate it for the city of Fort Myers Beach.

According to my understanding of the situation, the municipality is actively discouraging boaters from anchoring in the many mangroves. However, I do see many boats that anchor out in the Hurricane Bay area there and it seems that they're not going anywhere. So, legally, I am not sure what the situation is and how it is being enforced.

'Kruso' is at a marina there and we haven't anchored out in the immediate vicinity.
