Greetings from Hobart, Tasmania

Am looking forward to being part of this great community. I have worked in commercial fisheries all my life and only recently got bitten by the cruising /sailing bug (if that is not too grand a term for our pottering around the southern waters of Tasmania). I have a Sunbeam 34 and aspire to an Island Packet and to progressively venture further. I am full of admiration and gratitude for the wisdom and advice given freely by members of this group. Cheers and All the best for the New Year. Ian

Re: Greetings from Hobart, Tasmania

I just looked some drawings of a Sunbeam 34. Nice looking boat. I was very surprised to see the double berth aft. There can't be any head room back there!

No,not much. More crawl room - but 'tis only 34 after all. Being a couple of Hobbits in terms of stature helps!

Re: Greetings from Hobart, Tasmania

G'Day Thalassa,

Welcome to the CF. We're sitting in Eden waiting for some decent wx for continuing on to Hobart. We'll get there eventually, so if you see Insatiable II (not to be confused with Insatiable, which belongs to a CFer who calls himself Weyalan), give us a hoy!

Cheers,

Jim

Re: Greetings from Hobart, Tasmania

G'Day again Thalassa,

Well, we made it! Now anchored just south of the casino in Sandy Bay, and will be slipping at DSS on the 27th. If you are in the 'hood, come by and say hello.

Cheers,

Jim
