Greetings from (currently cold) upstate NY

Hello,
I am a photography teacher in Glens Falls NY. I've been sailing since I was about 16 years old. We have had a Sunfish, Hobie cats, a javelin and for a long time we sailed a Challenger 24. The Challenger was a great boat for where we sail on Lake George; a beautiful little lake, only 32 miles long but with many islands and undeveloped shoreline. When my oldest started college 12 years ago the university didn't seem to understand that boat money and mooring fees should be exempt from the financial aid forms, needless to say they won the argument. So after 12 years of not sailing (3 kids, 3 colleges!) we have just purchased an '83 Hunter 31, I've always wanted standing headroom! We plan to sail her (Northern Lites) on Lake George for the next four years and then after retirement take a trip down the coast and over to the Bahamas. Love this forum and look forward to getting to know folks.
Peter

Ahoy and Howdy and Welcome Aboard!

Peter, that was a very nice intro post you made.
Have fun in the forum and on your new boat (with headroom).

Thanks for the welcome. Hope you left NY for someplace you can sail year round, is that lat/long the pacific NW? I posted some photos of the boat in an album, don't have many yet as I have not splashed her yet.
