Practice this...

"Honey, I have given this a great deal of thought, I think instead of the Victorian we should get a big boat to live on." Good luck with that... Who knows...might work.

Then you can sell your weed eater, wheelbarrow, lawn mower and rake along with all the boat collection.

I tried and tried and tried. I just got her to agree to move away from Kansas where she's always lived. I've moved around some in my life so a permanent land based yacht is not a necessary requirement for me. I lived aboard a 55' Tiffany up in Galveston for a few weeks while doing engine repairs for a guy. I fell into the lifestyle in only a day or two. She says eventually we might live aboard which is female english for probably not in my lifetime.

What I've been doing here in Kansas I hope to be able to continue to do when I get down to TX. Here's a link to look at some of what I do.

Well, we would like to welcome you to Corpus Christi - and to Bay Yacht Club!

Stop by on Saturday, we'll be getting the boat ready for the Light Parade on Saturday evening - and from there we'll go to the yacht club for soup & libations. We're on D Pier, right in front of Joe's. You can't miss us. With all of those lights... Last year we had 9500. BTW, I'm on the Bay Yacht Club Membership Committee.

Hi Bill - We just got in this evening and we are at Knights Inn on Timon St.
We left at 4AM this morning and it took 14 hrs 20 minutes to get here.
We are coming as guests of Chris and Cathy Colley on Saturday nite.
Jan (my 1st officer) made her gumbo with shrimp and crawfish for the affair on Saturday evening. Even brought the rice!
Have a ton of things to do in 3 days so Saturday nite is what we are looking forward to and making a lot of new friends here. -- Chris

Chris,

Welcome to CC! We live in San Antonio during the week. We'll be down Friday night - feel free to drop by for a drink. Cell number is above.

Jen, we wondered what happened to y'all! No, we won't sail, with all of the lights. Hope to see you then!

Thanks Bill. After a day of driving around a strange place I might just need it... or 2 or 3 or 4 .....if you know what I mean. I'm awake at 05:30 and I can't figure why. WIDE awake. Chris

Bill have you seen the weather forcast for this weekend? We have a chance for SNOW tomorrow night - burrrrrrrrrrrrr We havent had time to look over all of our equipment so we might be staying in Alice. LOL Not sure if the air system has heat or whether we need to bring a couple of heaters.

Saturday should be fine though...just mid 40's. Perfect weather for hot cocoa with a splash of Bailey's

Be careful on your way down Friday!!

Jen

Yes, Jan (admiral) is in Fort Worth for the week. She has to drive down through the weather to CC either Friday or Saturday. We are expecting 2" in San Antonio. Earliest snow on record - given that we only get measurable snow about every 5 years.

Bob, we are next to Jenny, on D Pier (Joe's). Tall black mast, gray & white hull. There's another Macintosh across the pier - friends of ours from Kemah - there are only 16 in the world and 2 are on the same pier!

Jenny, you should have reverse cycle heat/air. We also have a portable heater we use sometimes. Weather's crazy, isn't it?

Chris - it was beautiful LAST weekend - near 80. I was even in the water cleaning the prop. Sorry you came on a cold weekend.

Bill-- Funny thing that we seem to bring the weather with us. We might get run out of town! It was 19 this morning back home and supposed to be 17 on Friday morning.
Couple of years ago we went to Galveston for our anniversary.... guess who showed up?
Hurricane Humberto. Our wedding vows were to weather the storms... I guess that includes all storms.
If we come over on Friday I'll need some hand holding (directions). We drove by the marina this morning... WOW! It's big.
Do you just park on one of the T heads and walk out? Or should I call you when we're ready? Also BYOB? We have nothing like this up at our marina on Melvern Lake...
A little overwhelming at first. Chris
