Hey everybody, my name is Joe and I'm new to the forum but not new to sailing; I've been sailing since i was 8 in multi and mono hulls. I'm familiar with lots of different designs and rigs but I have very little experience with boats over 20ft. I am very interested in the cruising lifestyle and I am in the process of shopping for a suitable vessel. I am proficient in a sailboat and a fast learner. I am intrigued by the idea of traveling in a sailboat and I want to learn as much as possible.

Welcome from the Left coast Joe...20'--- 40' the 40 will be easier to sail harder to dock just go for it.

Thanks Stillraining, due to insurance and taxes im looking for something in the 24-26ft range, i don't plan on living on her year round just take some long trips in her.

The 27 albin Vega seems a very popular pocket cruiser and there is even one for sale ready to go in Fiji from a poster here... for around 17k I think...you will be hard pressed to rig any boat ready to go for less..and it's already where you want to be anyway..

Thanks Zach, I am trying to learn everything I can and I would appreciate any sort of help or advice you can give. And as for touring the Triton, I would throughly enjoy that.

Welcome aboard!
The International Folkboat 26 sails like a dream even in the deep oceans. The Contessa 26 is similar. They are small down below so you will more than likely prefer the Triton once you've compared the two.
There are many boats in the size you are searching so go aboard and sail as many as you can before choosing.
