Greetings from Bay Area New Member

Hello everyone! I have not really sailed since I was 15 years old, a couple of times on the bay for a few hours and that is it. Now, I have a grand plan to purchase a coast cruiser and sail to southern Mexico/Guatemala by this time next year. Thusly, I have a short amount of time to "hoist" my learning curve and wish to reach out to the local sailing community for support, advice and friendship. In return, I am interested in helping with routine maintenance, repairs, crewing on any type trip and getting to know different types of sailboats and sailors.
Generally I am shy and inobtrusive. Once I am comfortable with someone, I have a wicked sense of humor. My background is in Law and Television, I speak Spanish and some Mandarin, light on alcohol (do not like drunks or idiots), do not smoke, open-minded, athletic and adventurous. I will consider all offers and would be more than happy to help anyone with mobility issues, disabled etc..
Thanks,
Mitchell

Greetings and welcome aboard the CF, Mitchell.

Your dislike of drunks and idiots may limit your opportunities around here; but your willingness to work with the disabled should counterbalance the former.

Welcome also Mitchell,
Take no notice of Gord. Most of us are usually idiotic when drunk. Hope you get a positive response and enjoy the site as much as we do.
Cheers
John

thank you for your message, I think you may be correct regarding sailors and booze...either that or it is unbecoming to state discriminatory preferences in an intro. my bad!

Be well!

You have the qualities needed to be a real ocean cruiser.

Aloha and welcome aboard!
Pay little attention to Gord's sense of humor. It's much like my own. You should fit right in since you can help me when I'm temporarily disabled by the use of too much alcohol. ?
kind regards,
