Smile Greetings from Alaska

Hello all!

I found this forum while researching charters for the BVI. After many years in the north I have finally taken up warmer hobbies and got certified to bareboat charter this summer in San Diego. This opened up my eyes to the wonderful world of sailing and I am looking to do as much as I can in the future.

After reading through many of the posts I decided to join and gather from the wealth of information and experience. Thanks in advance to all that participate.

J.

I am recently relocated to Girdwood in the mountains after over 40 years in the flatlands of the Kenai Peninsula.

Welcome aboard. Where in SD did you get certified?
Did you make it over to Coronado?

We got certified at San Diego Sailing Academy. Didn't make it to the Corodado Islands but are planning on it for the next trip.

We also "graduated" from SDSA, Depending on your definition of a perfect place to spend a day or so, Coronado pretty close. The new marina office was just getting finished up in May 09. Is was a very nice way to finish out the class
